Purpose: The oil filler cap was installed to dress up the engine compartment.
Preface: Before you start into this install be sure you have a candy bar. You might also want to know how to use your hands during this install to help make the job a lot easier.
1. We opened the hood and located the factory oil filler cap (see blue arrow in Figure 1 below).

2. We put a tight grip on the factory oil filler cap with our right hand (candy bar in left). We turned the cap counter clockwise until we could lift the oil filler cap free from the car. Then we replaced with the Corvette oil filler cap, turning the opposite direction than removing the cap.
3. Munch on candy bar. Wipe off sweat. See the finished job in Figure 2 below. Throw away candy bar wrapper.

Comments: The engine compartment has a cleaner look with the new oil filler cap. This has been the most noticeable improvement to date on the car. This mod helps keep horsepower from escaping from our valve covers. ;-)
